$79.4-million invested to build 3,562 social housing units in Montreal

“We continue our efforts to make the city accessible and maintain a healthy supply of housing.”

On Thursday, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante announced a new investment of $79.4-million in building 3,562 social housing units in the city. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) are collaborating on the project as part of the AccèsLogis Québec program.

In January, the federal government announced an investment of $57-million for 263 affordable housing units in Montreal, in line with the city’s mixed metropolis plan.
