Justin Trudeau honours the courage, heroism of first responders on 9/11

“Amidst the horror, you showed incredible selflessness β€” as first responders do every single day.”

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has just released a statement honouring the selflessness of firefighters, police officers, military personnel, paramedics and all first responders on this, the 19th anniversary of 9/11, the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history. 2,977 people lost their lives when four planes were hijacked and crashed in New York City, Washington D.C. and Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania.

“It’s a day many of us will never forget. 19 years ago, the deadliest terrorist attacks in American history claimed nearly 3,000 innocent lives β€” including 24 Canadians. As we remember them today, we also stand in solidarity with all those whose lives were forever changed. And to the firefighters, police officers, military personnel, paramedics and everyone who ran toward danger that day, thank you. Amidst the horror, you showed incredible courage, heroism and selflessness β€” as first responders do every single day.”
