King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Back for its second addition, For the Sake of Analog is hosting a collective photography exhibition to celebrate and preserve the medium of film in a digital-oriented world. The vernissage starts at 7, featuring live music by Alex K. Ctrllab Art Gallery (3624 St-Laurent), 2–11 p.m., PWYC

With 15 records under their belt (including five in 2017 alone) and no end in sight, it’s hard to stick King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard under any one music category, but experimental rock is probably in there somewhere. The group plays l’Olympia with fellow Aussie openers Amyl and the Sniffers. (Fans of our columnist Johnson Cummins should note that this show comes highly recommended by him.) 1004 Ste-Catherine E., 6:30 p.m., $25–$30

On what’s due to be a rainy day, tonight may be the night to check out the fifth edition of SAT Fest, a selection of 10 short films by directors from five countries projected in the Satosphere dome (tonight through Saturday). See the program details here. 1201 St-Laurent, 7 p.m., $20.25/$60.25 with a meal

From Washington, D.C., spoken word/no wave artist Sneaks plays le Ritz with openers Kallitechnis and Lost Creatures. 179 Jean-Talon W., 9:30 p.m., $10/$13

Party sans techno or house at Datcha, where TLC Wednesdays promises Afro, dancehall, baile funk, R&B, hip hop, reggaeton and more. 98 Laurier W., 11 p.m., price unlisted
