NDG Arts week has rebranded the West End neighbourhood’s Monkland Village street fest, and today is day one of the three-day block party, featuring a sidewalk sale, live music, family activities and a mythical-creatures theme. See Imagine Monkland’s programming details here.

SOIR is a celebration of local arts and culture in neighbourhoods around Montreal. The first of the three-part event series takes place tonight in Plateau Mont-Royal, featuring interdisciplinary art exhibitions, live music and more, both outdoors and in multiple venues around Mont Royal Avenue. POP Montreal’s marketplace and low-key party space Marché des Possibles opens up for the season. See the first weekend’s music, food and vendor programming here. Outside 5635 St-Dominique, 5–10 p.m., free entry

Following four editions in Toronto, Startup Fashion Week has arrived in Montreal to showcase the work of promising up-and-coming designers as well as host conferences and give exposure to companies making fashion tech and wearable tech. The event culminates in tonight’s runway show. Crowley Arts Centre (5325 Crowley), 6:30–11:30 p.m., $35–$65

Intersectional feminist collective Bas Bleu presents a line-up of local artists at la Plante, including Eva Young, Maggy France and Syliva Wrath. Keep an eye on the event page for the release of location info. 9 p.m., $10/$12

Revisit the pop, indie rock and hip hop hits of the aughts while helping a couple of local artists raise funds for their upcoming exhibition at 1999-2009 Dance Party, with DJs Thomas Leblanc and David Rancourt. Bar le Ritz PDB (179 Jean-Talon W.), 10:30 p.m., $5
