Plateau artist-run centre Studio XX’s artist-in-residence Rojin Shafiei hosts a vernissage for her video installation work I Wait for the Time, taking a look at the subjective experience of inertia and the passage of time with performer Holly Timpener. 4001 Berri, #201, 5 p.m., free

Sassy local rapper Donzelle is back from a decade-long hiatus with a new album called Presse-jus and this evening you can sample the sass at the 5à8 launch event taking place at le Ministère. Expect costumed dancers, a “trashy buffet” and ample busting of rhymes. 4521 St-Laurent, 5à8 p.m., free

The folks behind CKUT radio show Free City Radio launch the first edition of new live concert series Radioélectrique at Rosemont café Du Pain et Des Roses with performances from Tamara Filyavich, Zafer Zephyr and Stefan Spriodon Christoff, for broadcast on an upcoming editon of the show. 1951 St-Zotique E., 7 p.m., $10/PWYC

Massachusetts indie rockers Speedy Ortiz, who recently released a new record called Twerp Verse, play la Vitrola with openers Nnamdi Ogbonnaya and Kristian North. 4602 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $15/$18

There ain’t no party like a la Voute party, and tonight the club is celebrating a year in business. DJs Chris N, Zack Cola, Andrew Pololos, Evangelos Pavlis, Vito V and Toddy Flores will lay down the beats for party people dancing in a space decorated to resemble “a royal court of Versailles transposed to the year 3000.” 360 St-Jacques, 10 p.m., price unlisted
