Tonight’s edition of Cinema Politica presents the Montreal premiere of Another News Story, a 2017 British documentary from director Orban Wallace that juxtaposes stories of middle eastern emigrants with those of the European journalists dispatched to the Mediterranean coast to cover the story of their dangerous journeys, followed by a panel discussion with local activists Houda Asal, Dalila Awada and Fatima Azzahra Iman. 1455 de Maisonneuve W., 7 p.m., $5–$10 donation suggested

Local performing arts collective Grand Stand presents the fourth edition of On The Boulevard, a variety show featuring Montreal creatives at The Art Loft with special guests Fawn Parker, Nicky Tee, Jake Byrne and Edie Roberts, a customized clothing pop-up shop from Dromerke and musical guests Aquarius Dreams. 4152 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $5
