Vinyl-friendly Café180g hosts a new edition of their Loop Sessions open turntable night for aspiring DJs to learn from the pros and get practice at creating beats, followed by a demo performance of the new beats for the audience. 6409 Papineau, 5 p.m. till midnight, by donation

Two new exhibitions open with a vernissage at Parisian Laundry, including a solo show by Memphis-born multidisciplinary artist Grier Edmundson called The Angle of List, exploring the breaking points that lead to change, plus the group exhibition Collision 14 showing a selection of works from Concordia MFA student Madeleine Mayo. 3550 St-Antoine W., 6–9 p.m., free

Close out Black History Month with a massive celebration or Prince’s life and work at Club Soda this evening with the Brooks’ Prince tribute concert with special guests including Fredy V, Malika Tirolien, Jean-Sébastien Chouinard and  Ralph Télémaque. 1225 St-Laurent, 7:30 p.m., $17.25–$27.25
