The team at Good Vibe People present the January edition of their monthly multidisciplinary party ArtJam at Nomad Nation, with tonight’s edition featuring visual arts from MrCrocks, Sarah Berretta, Francis-james Hawkins, live tattooing with Léonie Hébert, henna by Prerna and more plus live music by the JEM, Mäze, Kenzow and Alpha D. 129 Van Horne, 8 p.m., $10

Homegrown funky jazz talents Busty and the Bass return to the stage in a big way tonight at the Corona Theatre, where they’ll be launching a new collaboration with Pierre Kwenders (who will be performing an opening set) to kick off the pair’s upcoming tour, complete with an innovative responsive stage lighting set-up by Moonshine’s lighting expert Boycott. 2490 Notre-Dame W., 8 p.m., $25

Day two of the new Lux Magna festival offers up a number of shows including a Battle of the Brass Bands with Montreal’s Urban Science Brass Band and the Van Hornies plus Toronto’s T.Dot BANGERZ Brass at la Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $15/$12 in advance), synth pop from la Fièvre, Mich Cota, Annie Sama (APigeon) and Lonely Boa at la Vitrola (4602 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $10) and closing with a DJ set from Serenade Obsolète (Xarah Dion) at Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., free).

Heat to Hochelaga’s retro Atomic Café for tonight’s burlesque improvisation contest Unexpectease, where the audience decides which team of burlesque stars puts on the best, most adventurous and funniest performance. Tonight’s showdown features Bunny Valentin, Karamel Kitten, Frenchy Jones, Lady Scarlet Pearl, Lulu les belles mirettes and Sucre à la crème. 3606 Ontario E., 8:30 p.m., $12
