Laugh the pain away at the 11th annual Mprov, Montreal’s festival of improvised sketch comedy. Tonight’s double header includes an early show hosted by Thierry Leblanc featuring troupes Gross, Dough Girls, Genghis and a storytelling Narrative Jam, followed by a late show hosted by Inga Knoth with performances by McGill Improv, Chestnuts and Truth Talk. 3697 St-Laurent, shows at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., $5 each or $7 for both

Australian psych/dance band Jagwar Ma play Théâtre Fairmount to promote their second album Every Now and Then, with support from intriguing Amsterdam’s alt-pop act Klangstof. 5240 Parc, 8 p.m., $18/$20
