VHS Van Horne station party

A previous viaduc (overpass) party

Grab your pooch and head down to the Lachine Canal for the first annual Montreal Dog Fest, with a full weekend of programming including food trucks, vendors selling dog stuff, a reduced-cost microchipping station, plus performances of dog tricks and athletics. 3700 Patrick, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., runs to Sunday, $15/$10 in advance

Gamers take note: UQAM-adjacent barcade Arcade MTL is hosting a day-long sale of retro video games for all types of consoles. The games will be playable throughout the space, and there’ll be bar service, too. 2031 St-Denis, 1–5 p.m., free entry

Hopefully the rain will let up in time for tonight’s Viaduc Mile End Mapping Block Party. The Christie 360 studio and visual artist Rémi Vincent working their magic on the area and the Tupi Collective DJs (Mks, Skambo and A-Rock) will provide the music, with the goal of getting 2,000 party people dancing. St-Laurent and Cloutier, 5–11 p.m., free

Check out a different angle on ’80s music at Casa del Popolo’s Franco New Wave Night with DJ/hosts Louis-Emmanuel De Ladurantaye, Sentimental Sénéchal and Tristan Xarah. 4873 St-Laurent, 9 p.m.–12 a.m., free

Late Montreal musician Katherine Peacock is being memorialized with a benefit concert for the Mile End Mission tonight. Nearly two dozen of her musician friends and colleagues — among them Adam Waito, James Irwin, Mike Wray, Melanie Benard, Tyler Rauman and Neil Holyoak — will be playing songs by Peacock’s various music projects, including Telefauna and My People Sleeping. 185 Van Horne, 8 p.m., by donation

British-born, Brooklyn-based producer, musician and selector Quantic (whose chill sound incorporates cumbia, bossa nova, salsa, soul, funk and jazz) brings the 1000 Watts Tour to Montreal tonight, with openers Tupi Collective (fresh from the Viaduc party mentioned above). Théâtre Fairmount (5240 Parc), doors 9 p.m., $28
