Tonight, Monday, Sept. 19, at the Carlu Theatre in Toronto, Polaris Music Prize will be awarded to the band or artist who released the best album in the last half of 2015 and first half of 2016.

The winner will be determined by a jury of 12 critics selected from the larger pool of Polaris jurors from across the country, and the prize — apart from the glory, of course — is a $50,000 cheque, a pretty sweet reward that would be deeply, deeply appreciated by any of these 10 nominees.

The hosts of the 11th annual Polaris gala are CBC Radio 2 hosts Tom Power and Amanda Parris, and seven of the nominees will perform live, namely Regina singer-songwriter Andy Shauf, Montreal folk/pop singer Basia Bulat, Vancouver indie rockers Black Mountain, Mission, B.C.-born pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen, Hamilton synth-R&B artist Jessy Lanza, Toronto indie pop act U.S. Girls and Vancouver punks White Lung.

Watch the gala below, beginning tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
