A four-day festival of activities is going down now at the future site of the new UdeM campus, called le Virage MTL. Today’s outdoor programming at the intersections of Outremont, Parc Ex, Mile Ex and Rosemont includes music from DJ Pascal Fioramore, performances, food and drink plus art installations in collaboration with nearby Eastern Bloc’s Sight & Sound festival. Vice and Fido are teaming up to present a conversation with Montreal DJ and producer Tiga at UQAM, followed by an afterparty at Artgang. Conference 405 Ste-Catherine E., 5 p.m., afterparty 6524 St-Hubert, 9 p.m., both free, RSVP required

Head to the old port’s Galerie Matthew Namour for the vernissage of a new solo exhibition called Hommage by painter Kevin Cyr, featuring images of spray-paint decorated vehicles as seen around Montreal. DJ Gayance will be providing the tunes. 217 St-Laurent, 6–9 p.m., free

Catch some great music under the stars at Jardins Gamelin, with a live set by Skinny Bros (brothers Christopher and Paul Cargnello playing a smart blends of rhythms and riffs inspired by everything from Cole Porter to Joe Strummer), preceded and followed by a DJ set by Mark the Magnanimous. 1500 Berri, 7–9 p.m., free
