Heartstreets

Mile End microbrew Dieu du Ciel celebrates 18 years of beers with a special beer selection served with a prom-style party theme—dress up a notch and enjoy a late summer patio day. 29 Laurier W., 3 p.m.–3 a.m., free entry

Head to the Belgo this afternoon for a vernissage of photographs by prominent Montreal artist Isabelle Hayeur in the exhibition Desert Shores (Lost America) at Galerie Hugues Charbonneau, documenting the harsh, polluted landscape of California’s Salton Sea, once a vibrant beach resort community. The vernissage will double as the launch party for the landscape-themed 88th issue of the art revue mag esse arts + opinions. 372 Ste-Catherine W., #308, 3–6 p.m., free

The final day of the OUMF music fest is headlined by Montreal hip hop trio Loud Lary Ajust, with John Jacob Magistery, Rymz, Hein Cooper, Heartstreets, Ego Death and a DJ set by Karim Ouellet. De Maisonneuve & St-Denis, 5–11:55 p.m., free

See the Short & Sweet dance program by Wants & Needs Danse at Théâtre la Chapelle, followed by a party to celebrate the start of the 2016-2017 season. (Check out our interview with Andrew Tay of Wants & Needs here.) 3700 St-Dominique, 8 p.m., $15, party at 9:30 p.m., free

Take in a hilarious night of live comedic storytelling with a double-header at the MainLine Theatre with the season’s first edition of Confabulation featuring the likes of Natalie Willett, Raeven GD and Gisela Sleizer sharing their funniest stories about accomplices from BFF’s to partners in crime, followed by Life Lessons, the live comedy talk show hosted by Keith Waterfield and Leighland Beckman, with a very special guest: ’90s-era YTV personality PJ Fresh Phil Guerrero. 3997 St-Laurent, Confabulation at 8 p.m., Life Lessons at 10:30 p.m., $10 each in advance

This month’s edition of LGBT club night Mec Plus Ultra is going with a trippy theme — Acid Land — with hallucinatory visuals and eclectic electronic music by resident DJs Franz, Montag and Diskommander. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $5 before 11 p.m./$8
