(Don’t forget to visit or at least call your dad today — it’s Father’s Day.)

It’s the very last day of the 2016 Fringe Festival, and there are piles of exciting comedy, drama, musical and contemporary dance shows to catch. See our two Fringe review round-ups (here are here) for our Culture Team’s recommendations.

The Village au Pied du Courant weekend parties — which have been happening in a sandy nook of Montreal’s southeast for few weeks now — introduce their Sunday market and “ciné-plage” today, with DJs Miguel Graça and Cult MTL’s own Johnson Cummins, a screening of the 2015 documentary Montréal New Wave and bars and food trucks on site. See a list of all the vendors on the event page here. 2100 Notre-Dame E., 1–11 p.m., free entry

Check out an afternoon dance party at BBAM! Gallery, where MuchMusic vet Kim Clarke Champniss (City Limits, The NewMusic) will be spinning ’80s alternative, Motown, Stax and ska. 3255 St-Jacques W., 2:30–4:30 p.m., free

Canada’s biggest skateboard competition Empire Am Getting Paid wraps up today at le Taz with semi-final and championship rounds featuring the very best skate talent from across Canada and the U.S. showing off their best skills for a $10,000 grand prize. 8931 Papineau, semi-finals 2–4 p.m., finals 4:30–6 p.m., free

Dextrous bartenders, their friends and connoisseurs of the liquor are invited to the second Drunken Masters bartending competition at le Mal Nécessaire, where speed is the primary criteria. 1106B St-Laurent, doors 6 p.m., competition begins 8 p.m.

Fresh from releasing a well-received new album and performances at Moogfest (NC), Obey Convention (HFX) and Mutek, recent Montreal transplant Sarah Davachi brings her electroacoustic compositions to Bar le Ritz PDB with ambient drone openers Forest Management (Chicago) and Dominic Coppola (Ann Arbor, MI). 179 Jean-Talon W., 9 p.m., $10
