Brush up on your far-left politics and activism by stocking up on texts, zines and art at this weekend’s Anarchist Bookfair, taking place in St-Henri at CEDA (2515 Delisle) and CCGV (2450 Workman), 10 a.m.–5 p.m. SatSun

Pick up some seedlings or take in a workshop at a number of Plateau celebrations of urban agriculture today with free flowers and compost for neighbourhood residents, farmers markets, workshops, arts & music, bike tours and more, including Duluth’s Cultivons le Plateau (Duluth between Coloniale & Hôtel-de-Ville, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., free), and St-Viateur’s Mile End en Fleurs (St-Viateur between Esplanade & Waverly, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., free). Over at the Laurier metro esplanade, Miel Montreal offers local honey tastings and other goodies to celebrate the International Day of the Honeybee (5113 Rivard, 12–4 p.m., free)

Support your local artisans and give your apartment / wardrobe a summer refresher at local markets today including the Fresh Paint Market #11 at Théâtre Sainte Catherine (264 Ste-Catherine E., 12–6 p.m., free) and the season’s first Marché de Nuit at Alexandraplatz accompanied by food trucks and DJs (6731 Esplanade, 2–11 p.m., free)

Montreal’s got plenty of food trucks, coffee trucks and even fashion trucks — and adding to the ranks today is the launch party for Montreal’s first DJ truck: Boom Box — the Montreal Dance Caravan kicks off with a Boombox Block Party in the Champs des Possibles in conjunction with la Bacchanale featuring DJs Emile C, 00 AM and Matt Brancatella, plus food trucks, live painting and more. It might get loud at Montreal’s #5 favourite underground venue (according to the Best of MTL readers poll), the B.O.G. with Toronto-area thrashers Chastity and Casper Skulls, with local support from Stevenson, brought to you by Bad Lunch. Secret location, 8 p.m., $7/PWYC
