The Black Theatre Workshop’s Discovery Series hosts a staged reading of Audrey Dwyer’s play Calpurnia, a humorous and critical narrative that follows a young playwright trying to juggle family obligations while in the process of writing a retelling of To Kill a Mockingbird from the perspective of Atticus Finch’s black maid. The final event of this year’s edition of cocktail culture fest Invasion Cocktail sees national mixology competition Made With Love present their national finals at the Rialto Theatre, and the audience gets to participate in tastings of all of the competition cocktails, as well as food and the chance to win some great prizes. 5723 Parc, 8 p.m., $50–$75
