New screen-printing collective Série Bleue hosts a launch party at their workshop for an Absence-themed exhibition in their Mile End studio. 5445 de Gaspé, #416, 6 p.m., free

YES Montreal hosts a talk that should be of interest to full-time artists and those who aspire to go pro with their art: Staying the Course: When the Going Gets Tough, with speakers Norma Andreu and Damian Siqueiros. 666 Sherbrooke W., 6:30–8:30 p.m., $21.20

La Plante hosts a Full Moon lunar eclipse party with sounds from witchy folk quartet Ghostly Hounds plus Fawna, Atamone, Sun!Pow! and MPSO. Secret location, 7 p.m., $7/PWYC

Gritty synth-pop band Cinéma Vengeance and DJ Cold Hands provide the tunes at tonight’s Souper Spectacle at Perfecto. No word yet on tonight’s meal, but given their track record it’s bound to be quality (vegetarian) eats. 20 Duluth E., dinner at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., $20 including a meal & glass of wine/$5 for the show only

This month’s edition of Beaux Dégâts goes down tonight at Foufounes Électriques with six teams of artists including HoarKor, Mos Geez and Loopkin going head to head for gold with audience participation to vote for their faves with — what else — spent beer cans. 87 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $5

Nigerian-born Tuareg guitarist Bombino is touring ahead of the April release of his upcoming album Azel (produced by Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth), and tonight he plays Phi Centre with openers Luther Chase and Last Good Tooth. 407 St-Pierre, 9 p.m., $27.50/$32.50
