It’s baseball week in Montreal, and to mark that occasion, author and Expos lover Jonah Keri will be speaking at the Jewish Public Library. 5400 Westbury, 6:30 p.m., $15 for students & seniors/$20

The film wing of the POP Montreal festival — Film POP — debuts its Ciné Club screening series at Espace POP with Absolute Beginners, the 1986 musical adaptation of Colin MacInes’s novel about 1950s London. The film, which organizers call “unfairly maligned,” was directed by famed punk documentarian/video-director Julien Temple and co-stars David Bowie as the villain. Note: There will be a bar. 5587 Parc, 710 p.m., $5

Catch eclectic and darkly humorous rootsy troubadour SwampWolf at Casa del Popolo as he kicks off a cross-country tour, with support from Fruiting Bodies and Po Lazarus’s Joshua Carey. 4873 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $8

Give your Tuesday night a funky, Afrofuturist finish with the competitive Syli d’Or show at Club Balattou featuring Afrikelektro vs. Envez. 4372 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., free

Party hard to the tunes of Head Nodders, J’vlyn d’Ark and Frankie Teardrop at Lunea, the latest fundraiser for transwomen support organization Taking What We Need. Salon Daomé (141 Mont-Royal E.), 10 p.m., $4 before midnight/$6
