“Shamrock Push-ups” for St. Patrick’s Day

It’s St. Patrick’s Day! If you’re looking for a good downtown spot to get your drink on, Brutopia is in full celebratory mode, with live music after 10 p.m. by Kevin McNeilly and the Honeymeads. 1219 Crescent, open from 2 p.m., free

Plateau cocktail bar Mayfair is launching High Tea Thursdays, where they’ll be serving up fine teas and gourmet bites alongside sparkling wine or some of their exquisite mixology creations. 451 Rachel E., 5à7

Spring means Cabane à Sucre season, and the Jean-Talon Market is getting a head start with a festive 5 à 8 with special samplers from dozens of the market’s local producers, plus special maple cocktails and live music from la Belle et la Brette. 7070 Henri-Julien, 5–8 p.m., free entry, $5 tasting pass includes one cocktail

Cinéma du Parc in conjunction with the Fantasia Festival presents a special 35mm screening of 1997 animé masterpiece Perfect Blue, the debut feature by the late filmmaker Satoshi Kon — the namesake of the film fest’s annual achievement award. Watch the trailer here. 3575 Parc, 9 p.m., $12.50/$11 young adults & seniors

Head to the Plateau’s Matahari Loft for a vernissage of Leather Lace Metal and Glass, a collection of material artworks from a group of Concordia Fibres and Material Practices MFA students including Jackie Patridge, Sachiko Sumi, Tiffany Paige and more. 1673 Mont-Royal E., 9 p.m., free

Wear your blackest black outfit for a killer threefer of local bands at Quai des Brumes: Bateau Noir, Black Love and thisquietarmy. This event is part of MXQC, Montreal’s answer to the increasingly overblown (and pointless for small-time bands) SXSW festival, happening in Austin this week. MXQC runs through Saturday, March 19. 4481 St-Denis, 9 p.m., $10

Chicago DJ crew Dirty Jeans are stopping in at chill Chinatown lounge Luwan for a party care of Get Born magazine, also featuring local DJ Vincent Pryce. 1050 Clark, 10 p.m., $5
