Anyone interested in or intrigued by the Situationist movement of the late 1960s will be drawn to Guy Debord’s 1967 film La societé du spectacle (which was, incidentally, an influence on British post-punk and the latest album by Montreal rappers Dead Obies), screening (in French) at la Passe this evening. 1214 de la Montagne, 6 p.m.

Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara launches his debut solo album — an eclectic experimental piece of work called Limn — with special guests the Luyas (playing a set of new instrumental material) and Event Cloak. Fairmount Theatre (5240 Parc), 7 p.m., $12

The second anniversary edition of Body Meta, the “International Discothèque” night — ie. African funk, “habibi jamz,” international disco, cumbia and soul — expands into both rooms at Casa del Popolo, with guest DJs Asma and Francis Oak joining residents Dimitri and Nico Sé. 4873 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., free

Queer dance party Lip promises a solid soundtrack by DJs Debbie Doe and Frankie Teardrop, visuals and PWYC and non-douche policies that should ensure a cheap and cheerful time for all. Bar le Ritz PDB (179 Jean-Talon W.), 11 p.m., $5 before midnight/$10
