Looking for something to do with your parents? Acclaimed one-man play Boom recently opened at the Segal Centre, with playwright, director and actor Rick Miller taking the audience on a trip spanning 25 years of cultural milestones, from music to politics, that shaped the baby boomer generation. 5170 Côte Ste-Catherine, 7 p.m., $32–$58

A novel performance takes place tonight at la Vitrola in the format of a record listening party (they’re calling it The DJ Who Gave Too Much Information), wherein Marie Claire Forté, Adam Kinner and Jacob Wren select songs to spin, each one accompanied by stories and reflections about the impact of the music on our personal and social lives. 4602 St-Laurent, 7 p.m., $10/PWYC

Tonight’s edition of the weekly stand-up night There’s Something Funny Going On at the Blue Dog doubles as a goodbye party for local comics Eman El Husseini and Jess Salomon as they prepare to move to the Big Apple.
