Youth Employment Services (YES) Montreal presents the 15th annual Business Skills for Creative Souls conference at the Rialto Theatre, featuring an impressive list of talented local artists and entrepreneurs. See the event details here. 5719 Parc, 9 a.m.4:30 p.m., $35/$50 including lunch

There are some great films screening at Cinéma du Parc this week, among them Denis Coté’s Boris Sans Béatrice and Ciro Guerra’s Embrace of the Serpent. 3575 Parc, $12.50/$11 students & seniors

David Cronenberg’s classic Montreal-shot horror movies from the 1970s — Shivers and Rabid — are screening double-bill styles at le Ritz. If you’ve never witnessed zombies in the metro, this is a must-see. As usual you can BYO food, or order in. 179 Jean-Talon W., 7 p.m., $1$5/PWYC (to cover copyright fees)

Local musician/visionary Karneef plays a headlining gig at Phi Centre, with openers Naytronix (aka tUnE-yArDs bassist Nate Brenner) and Dylan III. 407 St-Pierre, 9 p.m., $10/$15

The second of three Jam for Justice shows at Cagibi happens tonight, with proceeds going to music-education-advocating initiative Musicall. On stage are local rock bands FoOlish, 4OH4, MOOCH and Smoke Rings. 5490 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $10/$12
