Washington-based sculptor Mark Jenkins hosts a vernissage at Arsenal to present Remix, an exhibition of new pieces referencing iconic paintings of the past, created on the premises during an artist residency in which the artist used local residents as models for the figures. 2020 William, 8 p.m., free

Creative writing zines Emanator and Plasmag release brand-new issues full of poetry and science fiction at tonight’s double zine launch which also features readings, short film screenings and performances by Portable Cosmoshrine, In Hock and Alex Pelchat. You’ve got a couple of options for heavy reggae and dancehall parties tonight: Qualité de Luxe at Artgang with Poirier, Kyou and Mr. Touré (6524 St-Hubert, 10 p.m., free before 11 p.m./$7) and the battle crew edition of Pull-up Selecta at Divan Orange, featuring the Nomadic Massive Reggae Crew, Barrio Son Sao and Clinton Sly & Seed Organization (4234 St-Laurent, 9:30 p.m., $10).
