REVIEW: Wet’s “Don’t You”

This is the debut LP for the Brooklyn electro trio.

Wet, Don’t You (Columbia/ Sony)

For when the aromatic candle is lit, the flower petals are strewn and the romantic soundtrack is in need of a new entry. The Brooklyn balladeering trio do their best to set the mood, but seem to stop short of truly soaring — an integral component of slow burning lovers’ rock — even when they’re hitting all the familiar notes. The sweet, simple verses work better than the overcooked, wordy choruses. Less is more when it comes to cheesy electro love songs.
