The Holds

Concordia’s Queer Print Club and the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery team up to present Wendy’s Revenge, a lecture-performance by Walter Scott — he’s the author/illustrator of Wendy a Montreal-based comic series about an art student “whose dreams of contemporary art stardom are perpetually derailed by the temptations of punk music, drugs, alcohol, parties, and boys.” The Queer Print Club will also be offering a special edition tote bag for sale with proceeds going to support the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. 1400 de Maisonneuve W., LB-165, 6 p.m., free

Head to Articule for the vernissage of a new group show, the multi-titled Tracking or Toward the Discovery of Our World or Untitled curated by research resident Dominique Fontaine and featuring works that address the places we inhabit while considering migration, “belonging,” remoteness, instability and other markers of present-day realities in a globalized world. 262 Fairmount W., 7 p.m., free

It’s opening night at the MAI for brand-new theatre company PlayShed’s first production: British playwright Mike Bartlett’s Cock, which explores the nuances and fluidity of sexual orientation and identification with the story of a gay man whose long-term relationship faces a serious challenge when he unexpectedly falls in love with a woman. See our interview with the producers here. 3680 Jeanne-Mance, 8 p.m., $25

Saskatchewan classic rockers the Sheepdogs play the Corona, and if that weren’t reason enough to catch a show tonight, this one’s got the substantial bonus of local openers Beat Cops — don’t miss ’em! 2490 Notre-Dame W., 8 p.m., $27/$29

“Swampy soulful indie rock” band the Holds launch their self-titled debut EP with an opening set by Po Lazarus’s Joshua Carey and film projections by artist Daniel Oniszeczko. O Patro Vys 356 Mont-Royal E., 9 p.m., $90

Local minimal synth master Automelodi returns to the stage after a little time away, with openers Litige and Besatzung. Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $5
