The Sketch Republic takes over Montreal Improv for a holiday-themed show that will touch on seasonal “government sanctioned merrymaking,” drinking and mass consumption, with a range of performance, a big group Xmas sketch, a quasi-Santa host and mistletoe kisses, if you’re into that kind of thing. 3697 St-Laurent, 7–8 p.m., $8/$6 students

Head to Latin Quarter speakeasy En Cachette for a vernissage of hip hop portraits in the exhibition Soullineproject by Funky.B, with free drinks for the first 50 guests, plus deals on T-shirts for last minute gifts. The Centaur Theatre Company and Théâtre Urbi et Orbi present Urban Tales: An Erotic Christmas, six short solo pieces by playwrights including Marianne Ackerman and Dayna McLeod.
