Two new art shows open with vernissages at the Belgo Building today, including Stay Golden by New York-based Anishinaabe artist Maria Hupfield at Galerie Hugues Charbonneau (#308) and BF4E, a series of wall-mounted sculptures by Mathieu Lévesque at Galerie Trois Points (#520). While you’re in the Belgo, take note that it’s the last weekend for exhibits related to Le Mois de la Photo, so catch them while you can. 372 Ste-Catherine W., 3–5 p.m.

Head to BBAM! Gallery this afternoon for a performance by up and coming, folk-flavoured indie pop band What If Elephants during the gallery/record shop’s weekly Saturday afternoon concert series—which also gives you a great chance to check out Kamille Yergeau’s paintings of mysteries femmes fatales, on display at BBAM! until Oct. 23. 3255 St-Jacques, 3 p.m., by donation

Never Apart invites avant-garde filmmaker Bruce LaBruce for tonight’s Legend Series artist talk, which warms up with a DJ set by Plastik Patrik and a screening of LaBruce’s debut feature No Skin Off My Ass. 7049 St-Urbain, 7 p.m., $10

Tonight at le Fairmount, anti-Harper concert series #ImagineOct20th is going down, with David Usher, the Barr Brothers, Martha Wainwright, Plants & Animals, Hawksley Workman, Sin & Swoon, AroarA, Katie Moore, Socalled and DJ Noah Bick. Read more about  #ImagineOct20th here. 5240 Parc, 8 p.m., $8.75

The Dark Crystals edition of LGBT party Mec Plus Ultra promises a little black magic, plus a “super decadent” performance by Das Mörtal. Check the event page to get an idea of what kind of music DJs Franz, Montag and Diskommander play. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $5 before 11 p.m./$8

It’s Mile End nightclub Datcha’s two-year anniversary, and to celebrate, Multi Culti DJ Thomas Von Party goes head to head with Disco Halal’s Moscoman for a dance party marathon that begins tonight and continues throughout Sunday. 98 Laurier W., 11 p.m.–3 a.m., $10
