Head to the Mile End for a night of local fashion with the launch of the Fall 2015 collection by Jennifer Glasgow Design in the backyard of Général 54, where a series of photography by Hannah Goodman will also be on display. A few steps away, Citizen Vintage hosts a launch party for their new window display, inspired by the vintage Italian film Une femme est une femme, by artists Ashley Richards and Robyn Germanese. September marks Montreal’s Mois de la Photo, a biennial celebration of the art of photography, with this year’s edition spanning 15 venues showing works connected to the theme The Post-Photographic Condition. The festivities kick off tonight with a vernissage at the official headquarters, Parisian Laundry, where the works of six photographers will be on display. 3550 St-Antoine W., 6:30 p.m., free

After playing a surprise set at Snack N Blues last night, Timber Timbre play the first of two show at le National. Tonight their openers are local folk act Avec pas d’casque; they’ll be joined by Brooklyn singer-songwriter Eden Sela on Saturday — enter a contest to win tickets to the latter show here. 1220 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $30

Casa del Popolo is the site of the first two nights of Component One, a three-day music festival for people who like it loud.
