Verdun’s Arthur-Therrien Park  will be transformed into the moors of Scotland at the annual Highland Games, a celebration of Scottish culture that features sporting events like the famous caber toss, highland dancing, pipe bands, traditional food like haggis and shortbread and, of course, Scotch whisky tastings. 3750 Gaétan Laberge, 8 a.m.–9:30 p.m., $15

The Rrroooaaarrr festival winds down with Toronto band VCR, Austin’s Detestados and Montreal bands Mueco, Facade and Drip. Casa del Popolo (4873 St-Laurent), 7:30 p.m., $12

A special musical event is going down in the festival zone: Transcestral, presented by Présence Autochtone brings together Moroccan trance music and Canadian First Nations musical traditions such as powwow drumming and Inuit throat singing. Place des Festivals, 8:30 p.m., free
