More POP Montreal artists revealed

The POP Montreal festival is coming up next month, dominating the scene from Sept. 16-20, and on Aug. 26 they’ll be unveiling ALL the programming, from the bands to the parties to the film, art and symposium events that’ll fill those five days to the brim.

A bunch of shows have already been announced (see them here and here), and this morning the festival has unveiled even more shows, along with bits of Art POP and Film POP programming.

Among the shows are a pairing of metal legends Motörhead and Anthrax, showcases by local labels Fixture Records and Psychic Handshake and a show by Montreal producer Kaytranada. See the full details about all the newly announced shows below.

POP will screen fashion doc Outfitumentary by K8 Hardy, a New York artist and founding member of the queer feminist journal and artist collective LTTR, as well as Des jeunes gens mödernes, a French documentary about post-punk, cold wave and novö, followed by performances by  Police des moeurs and Xarah Dion.

On the art front, Montreal street artist Miss Me and eight youth participants from LOVE (Leave Out Violence) will present their collaborative work, “Pillars,” a massive wheatpaste mural that was “inspired by five real-life superheroes and the values they represent.” Two weeks in the making, this work will be unveiled at POP Quarters on the first day of the festival, Sept. 16.
