It’s the first day of Ile Soniq, the second annual edition of Evenko’s electronic music and rap festival. The weather is not looking good for either day (today especially) but this is rain or shine, and maybe today’s line-up — featuring Die Antwoord, Flosstradamus, Busy P, Claude Von Stroke with Green Velvet and Deadmau5, among many more — justifies weathering the wet conditions. Parc Jean-Drapeau, 1–11 p.m., $90 single day/$150 Gold Pass single day, two-day pass $175/$250 Gold Pass/$500 Platinum Pass

Local designer Jennifer Glasgow is opening her Mile End doors for her biggest studio sale ever, running through 5 p.m. on Saturday. See the details here. 5445 de Gaspé #505, 4 p.m.

Local comic Shawn Stenhouse inaugurates his new show, The Riff, at Théâtre Sainte Catherine. The concept of the show combines improv and stand-up by putting two comics onstage and letting them riff brand new material off each other. The inaugural show features Morgan O’Shea, Alain Mercieca, Tommy Marshall, Jacob Greco, Emma Wilkie and Jakub Stachurski. Brad MacDonald joins Stenhouse on hosting duties. 264 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $10

Fierté MTL Pride is mounting a major show in conjunction with Never Apart at Place Emilie-Gamelin tonight. Let’s hope the weather holds out for Village Paradise, featuring trans actress Candis Cayne (the festival’s guest of honour), cohosting with Plastik Patrik, and performances by Cazwell, Amanda Lepore, Barbara Tucker, Regina of Light Fires, celeb choreographer Scott Fordman and local DJ Vito V. Berri & de Maisonneuve, 8 p.m., free

Local show promoters Analogue Addiction mark their second anniversary with a dirty punk/rawk show at Quai des Brumes, feat. local bands Red Mass, Corridor and New Swears, plus DJ Philippe Lavoie. 4481 St-Denis, 9 p.m., $10

Whether or not you’re attending Ile Soniq this weekend, afterparties beckon. Tonight, the official afterparty is happening at SAT, with ED Banger crew members Busy P, DJ Pone and DJ Noyl. 1201 St-Laurent, p.m., $20
