Tables are turning and mics are hot

Where to party in Montreal this weekend and beyond.

shineThere’s a party goin’ on around here – like, absolutely everywhere. Murals are going up, tables are turning and mics are hot, so let’s get to the program.

Friday: Ease into things with an outdoor DJ set with Gayance at Jardin Gamelin’s Soiree Tourne-disque. Ste-Catherine & Berri, 6 p.m., free

Saturday: The big show goes down at Osheaga Block Party with Kaytranada, Salva, J.u.D., Goldlink and more. St-Laurent & Prince-Arthur, 1–11 p.m.

Take it over to Newspeak later for the afterparty, where Goldlink headlines with DJ Kidd Marvel, Louis P Celestic and Charles Cozy. 1403 Ste-Elisabeth, 10 p.m., $20

For less frenzy and more friend-sy, find Lexis on the Belmont patio makin’ it lovely with drinks and ditties. 4483 St-Laurent, 3 p.m.

Eman and VLooper hit the la Presse stage at FrancoFolies, on the free tip from 11 p.m. Clark & de Montigny, 11 p.m., free

And Toast Dawg officially drops Brazivilain Vol.2 at the Shag (aka Savoy) at the witching hour, midnight. Another free party! (See our interview with him here.) 59 Ste-Catherine E., 11:59 p.m., free

Sunday: Back to the block where A-Trak finally brings Fool’s Gold home to roost at Homecoming where he’ll be joined by Rome Fortune, Stwo, Shash’u, High Klassified, Post Malone, Simahlak, Dave Lux and Nick Catchdubs. Safe to say you’ll be a-dancin’. 3527 St-Laurent, 2–10 p.m., $12.50

Monday: Dead Obies get set to make another mark at the Francos, free from 11 p.m. on the la Presse stage. The boys just launched some new music and a bangin’ new website where you can have it all. Clark & de Montigny, 11 p.m., free

Tuesday: Monk.e, hot off a new one, makes his first solo appearance on the Franco’s outdoor program. This man takes up a stage, get ready. Clark & de Montigny, 9 p.m., free

Wednesday: Das Racist alum and indie rap darling Heems headlines Bar le Ritz PBR on the heels of his acclaimed solo debut Eat Thug Pray, which more or less describes my daily grind. This should be a good one to get into deep festival mode. 179 Jean-Talon W., 9:30 p.m., $15/$18
