It’s day one of a weekend sample sale at l’Ambassadée, with discounts as deep as 80 per cent off labels such as WRKDEPT, Pedram Karimi, The Blue Uniform and Ruebelle. 1001 Renoir B520, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

Montreal has a brand new art fair this year, called Art Contemporain Pour Tous, featuring 10 Montreal galleries and art of all types including painting, sculpture, glassworks, street art and more. The fair kicks off tonight with a vernissage at Galerie Yves Laroche. 6355 St-Laurent, 5–9 p.m., free

As part of the Blue Metropolis literary festival, authors Junot Diaz and Heather O’Neill will have a talk on stage at the Rialto. Diaz will receive the Premio Metropolis Azul (for fiction exploring an aspect of Spanish culture) for The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. 5723 Parc, 7–9 p.m., $10

There’s an international spread of synth-wave happening at Cabaret Playhouse tonight, with Froe Char (Paris), Automelodi (MTL), UNUR (Belgium) and Cellule 34 (Chicago) playing live. 5656 Parc. 9 p.m.
