Hip Hop Week Montreal continues with a number of events today, including a marquee workshop on beatmaking with producer Freddie Joachim, plus a panel discussion on the shift towards depoliticization in current mainstream hip hop at Divan Orange, followed by a night of performances showcasing Montreal acts including Strange Froots, Emrical and ST. Tonight’s Montreal Game Studios (MRGS) meet-up — a monthly public event that focuses on game design — presents games from the latest incubator by Pixelles, a women-in-games initiative that promotes diversity in the game-making community. Café l’Artère (7000 Parc), 6:309:30 p.m., free

The Phi Centre opens a four-day program of special film screenings showcasing some of the best films from the non-competitive selections of the Venice Film Festival.
