Brand new comedy collective Women in Comedy Montreal host their first open mic night at Théâtre Sainte Catherine, featuring stand-up, sketch comedy, improv, storytelling and more, hosted by Katie Leggitt. 264 Ste-Catherine E., 7 p.m., $7/$5 students

It’s Russian Film Night at Mile End café Chez Boris, presenting a screening of the 1967 comedy Kidnapping, Caucasian Style (in Russian with English subtitles). 5151 Parc, 7 p.m., free

Hot Butter screens Michael Winterbottom’s brilliant 2002 film 24 Hour Party People, recounting the story of Manchester’s Factory Records (Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays) and its founder Tony Wilson. It’s the final evening of Kalmunity Vibe Collective’s Black Liberation Month series at les Bobards, and tonight’s focus is on Black Women’s Voices, featuring Aliyah Thomas with Aiza, Rabbit Richards, Sarah MK and Malika Tirolien. 4328 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $5 before 8:30 p.m. or $10 after.
