New-Years-Eve

Yeah, it’s New Year’s Eve — time to get festive. Here are some dinner/show/party tips:

Le Gros Luxe, the curiously inexpensive party-restaurant chain, is throwing NYE dinner parties at its Mile End and Plateau locations. See the video teaser here.

If you want to eat out but haven’t made reservations yet, check out Open Table to see what Montreal restaurants have spaces available.

Of all the shows and parties in our NYE party guide, here are our top picks:

Merry Montreal is the group behind the big show down in the Old Port, featuring live sets by local francophone acts de qualité Alex Nevsky, Bernard Adamus and les Soeurs Boulay, with DJs Ines Talbi and Abeille, a big production for the countdown and fireworks at midnight. Old Port/Place Jacques Cartier, 7 p.m., free

Omisoka is the epic Neon/SJU/Evenko-produced bash, featuring DJs Jon Hopkins, Com Truise, Purity Ring’s Corin Roddick, Harrison, Pomo, Groj and Zepha, plus a live set by Toronto darkwave act TR/ST. Darling Foundry (745 Ottawa), 10 p.m. till dawn, $55 +tax & service charges at the door

Bow Down, the Beyoncé-themed party at Cabaret Playhouse will be bumping with mainstream sounds, but this is no Crescent Street party — it’s welcoming to LGBT peeps of all stripes and colours. Read more about the event, feat. local DJs and Toronto performer Leelee Davis, right here. 5656 Parc, 9 p.m., $10

Show promotion company Blue Skies Turn Black, in particular the crew’s Marilis Cardinal (Arbutus Records, Cardinal PR), are behind the 2K15 NYE bacchanalia at Bar le Ritz PDB, featuring karaoke, live music by the She-Devils and Planet Hollywood and an impossible stack of scenester DJs. 179 Jean-Talon W., 10 p.m., $5 before midnight/$10
