It’s a big night for the arts scene tonight, with six different vernissages to pick from, and plenty more through to the weekend. Here are some highlights!

Tonight, La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse is holding a cocktail party to announce the winner of their annual Powerhouse Prize. If you can’t make it tonight, the work of all four finalists will be on display for the next week and a bit. 4296 St-Laurent, 68 p.m.

New St-Henri space Rack Galerie is showing a retrospective of performance artist Olicorno’s work, called Step Inside the Process, which takes a look at his methods including sensory deprivation and a 480 km march in 2013 ending at Place des Arts. The artist will be present. 3714 Notre-Dame W., Wednesday, 59 p.m.

"Love Is the Drug" by Richard Mosse
“Love Is the Drug” by Richard Mosse

Irish artist Richard Mosse makes his Canadian debut at DHC/ART with The Enclave, a mutli-sensory presentation of infared photos and field recordings from the Congo, displayed on custom-made screens. The gallery will also be showing Surface Tension with over 50 photographs from French artist Valérie Belin. 451 & 465 St-Jean, Wednesday, 5:308:30 p.m.

Thursday sees the launch of David Widgington’s archival project documenting 2012’s Printemps Érables. The collection, entitled Printemps CUBEcois – When it’s Good to Be Unruly involves a giant cube festooned with posters and banners from the student strike movement, with a giant collage inside the temporary structure. The artist will be onsite at Concordia’s EV Building atrium. 1515 Ste-Catherine W., 58 p.m.

Also on Thursday, the The Guido Molinari Foundation hosts a one-night only dance performance with dancer and choreographer Louise Bédard as part of the exhibition Cozic/Moli: The Seventies – A Complicit Allusion. This event is free, so check it out! 3290 Ste-Catherine E., 7 p.m.

Friday is the opening of feminist art collective The Coven’s new show at Glass Door Gallery, featuring work by local artists Starchild Stela, Laurence Philomène, Amanda Craig, and more. Zines, patches and other goodies will be available throughout the two-day only show. 4064 St-Laurent, Suite #1, Friday 5 – 9 p.m. and Saturday 125 p.m.

Centre des Arts actuels Skol launches a video installation by Nadia Seboussi exploring themes of migration, colonialism and personal stories in this exhibit affiliated with the upcoming HTMlles Festival. 372 Ste-Catherine W. (Belgo Bldg. #314), Friday, 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, join the En Masse Collective as they open their new gallery space Espace Pour les Masses with a one-night only exhibition of personal works by member artists. 135 Van Horne, 2nd floor, 6 p.m.

"Mareikura" by Lisa Reihana
“Mareikura” by Lisa Reihana

In another HTMlles related show, Maori artist Lisa Reihana travels all the way from New Zealand to discuss her multimedia installation Mareikura at Articule, which combines Maori cultural elements with contemporary media like video games and advertising to explore themes of power and representation. The artist will present a talk at 5 p.m. followed by a vernissage reception. 262 Fairmount W., Saturday, 5 p.m.

Finally, though there doesn’t seem to be a vernissage, you’ll have the opportunity to see some drawings by surrealist Salvador Dali that have come up for sale, on display at Galerie d’Art Ambiance (81 St-Paul E.) from Oct. 18 to Nov. 9.
