Don’t sleep! 11 hip hop events this week

A record launch, a showcase, a cypher, a DJed brunch, a sample sale and a stack of parties for your hip hop To-Do List.

Thursday: One of rap’s hardest working, Kansas City OG Tech N9ne, brings it back for his legions of Montreal faithful at Petit Olympia tonight, with Krizz Kaliko, Animal Nation and more. 1268 Amherst, 7 p.m., $40

Up at Blizzarts, High Klassified guests at MELT029. I’m not sure how many more times we will get to party that intimately with HK as his star continues to rise, so enjoy the little things while we can. 3956 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., free

And at Belmont, U.K. hip hop/dubstep crew Foreign Beggars shake their cups with support from Substance, Henward and Hochelag Massive. See set times here4483 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $27

Friday: Get your fresh on at the Merathon Traders sample sale, in St-Henri, all weekend long. Hot brands and hot deals abound. 642 de Courcelle #107, 12-9 p.m.

Dressed so fine, you should Get Nice at Blizzarts with Simahlak and fam. 3956 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., free

Saturday: Something for the MCs. Hip Hop Heads Concordia throws down a cypher, with an open mic concept at Hip Hop Café. 4801 Parc, 6 p.m.

Later, Raw Records showcases Thomas White, Dead Horse Beats, Dave Lux and several more at Blue Dog Motel. 3958 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $5

And at la Sala Rossa, Scott C and Andy Williams deliver The Goods, with special guest Professor Groove of WeFunk radio. 4848 St-Laurent, 10:30 p.m., $10

Sunday: It’s the Morning After, innit? Get your sloppy self to Nouveau Palais and let DJ Waahli (aka Wyzah of Nomadic Massive) get you proper again at his brunch-y monthly. 281 Bernard W., 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

And at night, you will find Clarity at Piranha Bar with guests Better Weather, Champ Carly and Free Bacon…oh wait, that’s actual free bacon, before 10:30 p.m. Clarity lives in TO now so if you haven’t seen him in a minute – or ever — don’t skip this chance. 680 Ste-Catherine W., doors 9 p.m., show 10 p.m., $10

Wednesday: Kalmunity player and one-time Boogie Wonder Band frontman (that was news to me!) Fredy V launches his solo debut, the Varsity Vol.1 EP, at Petit Campus, promising soul, rock and funk all over. 57 Prince-Arthur E., 9 p.m., $10 (includes EP on CD)
