Malika Tirolien

You might know Malika Tirolien for her work with Kalmunity Vibe Collective, Groundfood, Coral Egan or Cirque du Soleil, or even for her involvement with Miss Créole Quebec. Tonight she launches a solo album, blending traditional Afro-Guadeloupean sounds with contemporary influences. Cabaret du Lion d’Or (1676 Ontario E.), 5à7 p.m., free

If you haven’t seen The Congress, the new (partly) animated feature film by Ari Folman (Waltz With Bashir) starring Robin Wright, you’ve got to see it on the big screen. Luckily it’s still playing at the Forum (2313 Ste-Catherine W., 3, 6, 9 p.m.) and Excentris (3536 St-Laurent, 5:15 & 9:20 p.m.).

Find out what multimedia arts collective Les Cousins have been up to over the past four weeks as they launch a print collection of works created by collective members working autonomously and sequentially, with each members’ work being inspired by that of their colleague who came before. Arprim (372 Ste-Catherine W., #426), 6 p.m., free

Casa del Popolo is the scene tonight for an event that never could have happened five years ago — a launch party for a new hashtag, #streetartderue. The organizers are hoping to create a visual library of Montreal’s eye-catching outdoor arts with widespread use. Performances by Xania and Victoria Laberge. 4873 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., PWYC

Take in some jazz at Résonance tonight with the Mike de Masi Quartet5175A Parc, 9 p.m., $7 suggested
