The Festival Mode & Design begins today, bringing a series of fashion shows (6:30 to 9 p.m.), a DJ set by Matt Silver and performance by Foreign Diplomats (7 p.m.) and an audio-visual spectacle called Mouvement (9 p.m.) to the Place des Festivals. Ste-Catherine & Jeanne Mance, free

The Passovah music festival launches with a party at Nouveau Palais feat. DJ Pas Cha. 281 Bernard W., 8 p.m., free

The Vibrators, veterans of London’s ’70s punk scene, play Foufs with Jimmy Target & the Triggers, Brutal Cherie and the Bombs. 87 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $13 advance
