Lady Gaga

The Juxtapop pop-up shop opens for a two-day run at Espace Pop today, selling art, jewellery, clothing and accessories by six designers (with items described as fun, cutesy and magical). The shop opens at noon but there’s an opening mixer tonight at 7 p.m., where sangria will be served. 5587 Parc, 12-9 p.m.

Lady Gaga plays Montreal with openers Lady Starlight and Crayon Pop. Bell Centre (1909 Avenue des Canadiens de Montréal), 7:30 p.m., $48.50–$219.50

The Phi Centre screens Gia Coppola’s Palo Alto, a teen drama based on James Franco’s short stories. You can read our interview with Coppola (yes, granddaughter of Francis) here. 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $11.25

The big show at the Jazz Fest tonight is Aretha Franklin, but if you’re looking for a fun free event, check out the duelling gypsy bands (Roma Carnivale vs. Orkestra Sevrini), and if it’s a spectacular (in the literal sense) indie pop extravaganza you want to see, go to Of Montreal.
