Photobooth: A Biography

The Concordia Film Festival launches with a free outdoor concert presented by Pop Montreal, featuring Hugo Bourcier, Syzzors and Dear Criminals. Parc de la Petite-Italie (Clark & St-Zotique), 2 p.m., free

Behind Closed Doors is an exhibit of work by 22 Montreal-based artists who were challenged with depicting scenes seen through a keyhole. Sixty per cent of proceeds from a silent auction will be donated to Shield of Athena, an organization that assists victims of family violence. It runs till May 31, and the vernissage is tonight. Sam Alden hosts a Conundrum Press Calvacade of book launches at Librairie Drawn & Quarterly. The night will include presentations from Meags Fitzgerald (Photobooth: A Biography), Jimmy Beaulieu (My Neighbour’s Bikini), Réal Godbout (Amerika) and Mark Connery (Rudy). 211 Bernard W., 7 p.m., free

CKUT 90.3 FM’s biannual concert series Total Eclipse returns just in time to launch the radio station’s compilation of in-studio recordings. There’ll be sets by Nick Kuepfer, Andrea-Jane, Cornell, Babysitter, ¡FLIST!, Shining Wizard, White Cube and Alcrete.
