Cinema Politica presents Paris Is Burning, a documentary about drag balls in 1980s New York City. The screening will be preceded by a live performance by Kama La Mackerel and followed by the launch party for Lucas Hilderbrand’s book Paris Is Burning: A Queer Film Classic, with Hilderbrand in attendance. There’s Something Funny Going On brings together a roster of six stand-up artists, hosted by Eman El-Husseini. Blue Dog Motel (3958 St-Laurent), 8:30 p.m., PWYC

See Cinema for the Ears 2013, a quintet of local experimental musicians — namely Alexandre St-Onge, Roger Tellier-Craig, Erin Sexton, Philippe Lambert and Jean-Sébastien Truchy — perform pieces from classic film soundtracks composed by  Morricone, Artemiev and Murch.
