On the heavier end of the sonic scale, Brooklyn post-hardcore band the Men are back, with Purling Hiss, the Fuzz and Dead Future. Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 8 p.m., $14

Alternately, there’s Dutch musician Jacco Gardner, a neo-psychedelic/baroque specialist whose debut LP Cabinet of Curiosities was released on Trouble In Mind Records. The openers are Year of Glad and Marble Lion. Divan Orange (4234 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $10/$13
