Canada’s heaviest band is playing Montreal

Brace yourself for heaviosity.

facebook (379x464)If you’re still busted up about the Hawkwind show that was supposed to have happened on Oct. 8, good news: they’ve rescheduled for March 12, 2014.

Here are three ways to get heavy in the coming week:

Friday: Ottawa’s Pregnancy Scares skip their one-horse town to play Brasserie Beaubien (73 Beaubien E.) with support from the long dormant Dead Wife, who rise from the grave with a new tape in their grubby mitts, Tired and Nubians.

Saturday: The Pelecanus Festival returns with the stoner doom of Dopethrone, Irn, Teeth Marks, Hell’s Angles and Dead Ranch. All of this heaviosity will happen in the luxurious environs of Turbo Haus (1180 St-Antoine).

Wednesday: If you’re pulling yer pud about the Pelecanus show, you might also want to check out Canada’s heaviest band, KEN mode, when they pummel yer noggin to bits with Full of Hell at Katacombes (1635 St-Laurent). ■
