Tonight you can check out German film Heavy Girls at the Goethe Institut. This Axel Ranisch flick was made on the tiny budget of $703.76, but still manages to tell a complex story about love. 1626 St-Laurent, #100, 7 p.m. & 8:45 p.m., $3 or free for Friends of Goethe

See lauded indie movie A Teacher, about a student/teacher affair. PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 7:30 p.m., $11.25

Concordia students get free entry to the back to school edition of Hip Hop Karaoke (bring your IDs!), hosted by D-Shade, with beats by DJ Shash’U. Aside from the main event, there’ll be hip hop trivia and snacks on hand by Biscuit Boy. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $5 before 11 p.m./$10

Get down to Katacombes for POMPe, the recurring alt-queer club bash starring resident DJs Like the Wolf and JNNBNNRCK — hear the mix they prepared for us here. Bonus: a live performances by Joseph Gabereau. 1635 St-Laurent, 11 p.m., $5
