DeAnne Smith is hosting Royal Riot at the Royal Phoenix — a night of majestic comedy. Do all of the laughing, and follow it up with some dancin’ to ’80s underground music with DJ Syntax Era. (5788 St-Laurent), 8 p.m., $5

Karine Vanasse and director Léa Pool will be in attendance at the screening of French film Emporte-Moi, part of Cinéma du Parc’s We Are Young! programme. After the screening there’ll be a discussion and Q&A session. 3575 Parc, 9 p.m., $11.50
