The Man With the Iron Fists

Eastern Bloc’s artist-in-residence Fiona Annis leads a workshop using hybridized digital and analogue technologies to record and loop sound, presented as part of her ongoing exhibition Outlines of Astronomy. Eastern Bloc (7240 Clark), 3–6 p.m.

The History of Games International conference continues with the “Building History” roundtable including gaming royalty Warren Spector, John Romero and Brenda Romero, as well as locals Jason Della Rocca from Execution Labs and Reid Schneider from WB Games Montreal. La Grande Bibliothèque (475 de Maisonneuve E.), 3:15 p.m.–4:45 p.m.

RZA, of Wu-Tang Clan fame, presents his film The Man With the Iron Fists, the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero descending on a fabled village in China for a winner-takes-all battle for a fortune in gold. There will be a Q&A with RZA between screenings. (407 St-Pierre), 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., $11.25

Get a hard dose of rock ‘n’ roll at a show curated by CKUT’s 27th Hour, with Sonic Avenues, Needles // Pins, News Swears, Hollywood, the Tough Shits and Dead Future. Brasserie Beaubien (73 Beaubien E.), 9 p.m., $8

Fringe hosts the annual Frankie Awards for the best of the fest, with a huge closing party to wrap the festival. Cabaret du Mile End (5240 Parc), 11 p.m., free
