Learn more about architecture and urban development at this week’s CCA public discussion, presented as part of their ongoing ABC:MTL exhibition. Today, artist Jacinthe Robillard will discuss her Les Jardins urban renewal project (5 p.m.), Avenue 8 and Alexandre Maltais discuss the city’s recent condo boom (6 p.m.), and the Open Form Architecture will present on a housing project’s architecture (7 p.m.) Canadian Centre for Architecture (1920 Baile), 5–8 p.m., all free

Fancy yourself a farmer? Learn how to get down to nature with the Concordia Greenhouse, which is hosting a panel on small-scale intensive farming and launching its 2013 City Farm School program. Concordia Greenhouse (1515 Ste-Catherine W. room 1.615), 6–8 p.m., free

Check out Structure Apparente by Montreal artist Luce Meunier, an exhibit offering insight into the artist’s technique through play with light and surfaces using layered textures. La Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran (1000 Amherst, # 101), 6 p.m., free

Group exhibit Carrier Pigeon opens tonight, featuring Zeesy Powers’s “Subjects” and Dominic Gagnon’s “Society’s Space” which, according to the venue’s website, “more specifically examine the notion of contagious activity and the persuasive power of language, visual or spoken.” Vernissage Feb. 7, Eastern Bloc (7240 Clark), 6 p.m., free

Catch new looks from local designers at a low-key exhibition. Jennifer Glasgow, Cult MTL February featured fashion designer Rachel F. and Melow by Mélissa Bolduc are just a few of the presentations you can catch at this Fashion Week’s Exhibit24 presentation. L’Arsenal (2020 William), 6:30 p.m.

See local bands battle their way to this summer’s Heavy MTL — tonight’s competitors are Ogenix, Projekt F, D.O.T. and Truth or Scare. CHOM’s Jason Rockman and GWAR’s Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) decide who’ll emerge victorious — until the next round of eliminations, that is. Katacombes (1635 St-Laurent), 8:30 p.m., $12/$15 door

It’s a stacked night out in the Plateau/Mile End, with these DJs on duty: PS I Love You’s Paul Saulnier at On the Rocks (Salon Officiel), Iron Galaxy and Bongiovanni at Two Tone (Blizzarts), Caffrey and Kozz at Motor Disco (Casa del Popolo), Cadence Weapon at Eat to the Beat (Nouveau Palais) and JNNBNNRCK, Grace Garbage and Rochelle at Disco Not Disco (Royal Phoenix).
