One-Night Stand is a column chronicling hook-ups in Montreal. In an effort to better understand what’s really unfolding in our bars, clubs and venues, we’re asking our readers to submit stories of their most memorable sexual experiences, be they great or terrible, with the new friends they make when they’re out. What follows is a firsthand account of what happens in our city’s bedrooms on any given night.

Age: 26
Sex: Male
Orientation: Straight
Meeting place: Dating website

The details: For my first and only dating website experience, I was fortunate enough to navigate past all the the 40-year-old men posing as young women promising to swallow my semen, to finally get a real date with a real girl. We exchanged a few messages and texts before she phoned me one evening, insisting that we meet up. I thought it was quite forward, but I agreed. We met at an Irish bar near Crescent and had a pint or two. She was bubbly and attractive. Conversation came easily, and from time to time we would kiss. As the kitchen was closed, we ventured out to find something to eat, settling for a takeaway pizza joint in the area. We proceeded to make out and feel each other up in a neighbouring carpark while we ate our pepperoni pizza slices. At this stage, it was time to go back to my place. Continuing the make-out session on my bed, things were looking good, until I made a fumble undoing her bra. The extra moments that I took to stop kissing her and to awkwardly fiddle with the clasp were enough for her to fall asleep and start snoring. She was fast asleep and totally unrousable, so that is where I left her, fully clothed facing the foot of the bed. In the morning, she was nonplussed about the whole affair, making some excuses about being tired or something. FYI, to my knowledge, she wasn’t drunk or roofied. ■
